Sometimes the best love stories begin on an ordinary day. On the Sunday that we met, neither of us knew that our lives were about to change but on October 1, 2023, Devon walked into a quiet wine bar, and Luke happened to be behind the counter.

It was nearly empty that night, giving us the rare gift of uninterrupted time. We clicked immediately eith easy conversation, nonstop eye contact (a feat for Devon!), and a feeling that something special was starting.

From there, everything unfolded naturally. A wine date later that week turned into hours of learning about each other and sparks flew. By October 21, after a day at the state fair with Luke’s family and friends, we made our relationship official. Within just weeks, we knew we loved each other and wanted to build our future together.

In December 2023, we took our first trip, a weekend road-tripping to California for Disneyland and Universal Studios, a romantic trip full of joy and magic.

We rang in New Year’s Eve hosting a backyard party with friends and fireworks, lighting up our first new year together.

By May 2024, Luke moved in, and we began turning Devon’s house into our home. We celebrated birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments. And Twig, Devon’s cavapoo, slowly but surely decided that Luke was now part of the pack.

Then came December 21, 2024. We were preparing to host a pre-holiday party for Luke’s family. That morning, Luke made Devon breakfast and mentioned he’d bought a cute outfit for Twig for the evening. He handed her a small present. Inside was a red collar with a new tag. On one side a tiny tuxedo, and on the other: “Will You Marry Me?”

Devon turned around to find Luke on one knee, ring in hand and immediately said yes.

And now, with more than a year of engagement behind us, we are so excited to celebrate the start of the next chapter of our story with all of you!
